Sen. Schumer becomes Democrats' bipartisan bridge builder

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., has been key in derailing Republicans' efforts for several years, but that has changed this year. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., picked Schumer to take on the job of being Senate Democrats' point person on working with the GOP.
