Vestas' Albaek: Wind needs to work harder to sway public opinion

Opponents of wind energy are well-funded and set on spreading deceits, so the industry must find ways to counter such efforts, writes Morten Albaek, Vestas Wind Systems senior vice president of marketing, communication and corporate relations. He argues that combating misinformation with facts is not enough, they must be put into context in order to sway public opinion. "For instance, we need to say that the noise volume from a wind turbine 400 metres away is lower than the noise from an average refrigerator," he writes.
