An industry has emerged that provides IQ-style psychometric tests to help firms identify their most promising future leaders. For a fee -- $30 or more per candidate -- testing lets companies quickly whittle a stack of résumés down to a handful of contenders. Critics question the reliability of questionnaires that purport to measure "touchy-feely traits such as personality, leadership potential and 'emotional intelligence,' " The Economist writes.
