The World Bank "has changed tremendously," says President Jim Yong Kim, who as a student protested the bank's efforts. The bank is at the leading edge of advocating gender equality and battling climate change, Kim contends, and is important for development because "you cannot lift people out of poverty without economic growth," Kim says.
