Poll of IT professionals reveals widespread lack of BYOD oversight

Most enterprises are at least partially in the dark about how many of their employees are using their personal devices to access company networks and what they're doing when they do so, research shows. The SANS Institute's First Annual Survey on Mobility Security relies on responses from 500 IT professionals. Despite the surge in both known and unknown BYOD, less than a fifth of organizations are employing endpoint security solutions -- an oversight that will contribute to a significant increase in botnet infections by 2013, according to Gartner.
