5 leading health systems form data exchange initiative

Kaiser Permanente, Mayo Clinic, Geisinger Health System, Intermountain Healthcare and Group Health Cooperative -- five of the nation's pioneers in EMR use -- have joined forces to create the Care Connectivity Consortium, which aims to promote secure electronic data exchange. One of the initiative's goals is to showcase that improved data access can lead to better care.
