Parents protest special-education layoffs in N.C. district

Parents of children with disabilities in a North Carolina district are protesting cuts to special education that could include the dismissal of 34 paraeducators. The district is hoping to save $2.3 million by eliminating the positions. Parents say the paraprofessionals are critical to helping their children stay focused and learn in school.
