Crisis improved Americans' financial habits, survey finds

The financial crisis has shaped Americans' spending and saving patterns, leaving many more frugal than in the past, a Fidelity Investments survey finds. More are paying down their debts and investing in tax-deferred retirement accounts, and 56% report that they've moved from feeling scared at the beginning of the financial crisis to feeling better prepared now.
