Even with sequester, March DOD award values jump 71%

The value of contracts from the Pentagon rose 71% in March compared with a month earlier, hitting $39.4 billion, but industry experts warn that the jump doesn't signal a return to big spending. Instead, the Defense Department is delaying many contracts and seeking to revise others, said Stan Soloway, CEO of the contractors lobbying group Professional Services Council.
