Freescale targets the Internet of Things with new RFICs

Freescale Semiconductor is re-entering the radio-frequency integrated circuit market with ARM-based processors for cellular communications and wireless networking, Nick Flaherty writes. The chipmaker will bring out by the end of this year a 2.4 gigahertz RFIC supporting the Bluetooth and ZigBee wireless standards, said Freescale's Geoff Lees.
