House bill would give docs near retirement EHR reprieve

U.S. Rep. Diane Black, R-Tenn., has introduced a bill that would offer penalty exemptions to retirement-age physicians who do not adopt electronic health record systems. The measure would also allow solo practitioners to gain a three-year reprieve before penalties kick in, while making it easier for certain specialists to meet qualifications for bonuses.
