Utah attorney general asked to rule on release of teachers' data

Utah's Office of Education is asking the state's attorney general to decide whether schools should publish individual teachers' data because of what some see as a conflict within state law. While state law requires that individual teacher performance data be collected and reported, it also focuses on protecting teachers' privacy. The Utah School Superintendents Association and Utah School Boards Association opposed a wide public release, while the Parents for Choice in Education supports publication of the data.
