Johns Hopkins medical school to ban gifts for doctors

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine will implement rules prohibiting gifts from drugmakers and medical-device companies to restrict industry influence on decisions about patient treatment. The Johns Hopkins Medicine Policy on Interaction with Industry, which is set to take effect July 1, also will limit consulting and speaking activities for physicians.
