Government struggles to recruit cybersecurity pros

Cybersecurity is becoming a growth field in IT work, and the government is facing a shortage of qualified workers in the field, according to hiring managers. Entry-level salaries in the field can reach six figures as the government and private firms work to implement security efforts that span public and private networks. "Two recent examples have highlighted why companies need to work together: the Conficker worm and the Google attack," said Melissa Hathaway, a former presidential adviser on cybersecurity.
