Commentary: Exchanges need Plan B in case mergers fall through

Columnist Vladimir Guevarra argues that Deutsche Boerse and Singapore Exchange should have a Plan B in case their merger efforts fall through. Heads of major exchanges are focused on the importance of size and scale, saying small bourses risk losing out on liquidity. "Capital will gravitate over time to the exchanges with the most liquidity and the most efficient operations," said SGX CEO Magnus Bocker.
