Salazar believes industry will benefit from fracking regulations

The energy industry and the environment will both benefit from pending Bureau of Land Management policies covering hydraulic fracturing on federal lands, said Interior Secretary Ken Salazar. The rules will include "common-sense" directives that could improve the industry's public image, Salazar said during his North Dakota visit last week. "Our hope is that by approaching hydraulic fracturing in a way that creates confidence among the American public, it won't become the Achilles' heel of the oil and gas industry," he said.
