Use capers to add bold flavor

Capers are an intensely flavored flower bud found on wild bushes in Italy, France and Spain that, when pickled, can be used to add salty, intriguing flavor when cooking everything from salads to sauces. Caper berries, which are the fruit of the same bush, can also be pickled and added to dishes in the same manner.
