Calif. regulator could soon approve restart of Chevron refinery

Chevron could get approval to restart its Richmond, Calif., refinery within a few days, according to the California Occupational Safety and Health Program. The facility suffered a fire in August 2012 that damaged its crude distillation unit. "If we are assured that everything meets our standards, we could lift the order prohibiting use at the refinery," said Ellen Widess, chief at Cal/OSHA.
