Childhood dental anesthesia linked to missing wisdom teeth buds

Children who receive injections of local anesthetic in their lower jaw are less likely to have wisdom teeth buds than their peers who never received dental anesthesia, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine researchers say. The study did not prove a causal relationship, but it may lead to future studies into preventing the growth of wisdom teeth, which often become impacted and infected.
