English teachers list their top books

A recent survey of primary- and secondary-school teachers in England finds that, among their favourite books taught in school, Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" comes out on top. Other favourite titles include Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" and J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series. Simon Gibbons, chairman of the National Association for the Teaching of English, said the titles that made the list suggest the teaching profession is dominated by women.
