EU's Barnier reportedly asks Lew to seek changes to swaps proposals

Michel Barnier, financial services chief for the EU, met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew to discuss concerns about Europe's economy and regulatory changes. Barnier urged Lew to call for changes to draft swaps rules, sources said. Lew also met with other European officials, including EU President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
