To get the most from IT outsourcing, focus on the big picture

Enterprises demand much more than simple cost benefits from their outsourcing arrangements, but new research shows they are lacking the resources to get what they need and few are making the effort to change that. According to Phil Fersht, CEO of HfS Research, while just one-third of polled executives are confident in the skills of their governance talent, less than one-quarter are investing in training and skills development for outsourcing staff. Fersht says companies are often too focused on short-term tactical goals and overlook the operational proficiencies that drive innovation on a long-term basis.
