Hologic clears regulatory hurdle in Canada for 2 HPV assays

Hologic has obtained approval to market its Aptima HPV and Aptima HPV 16 18/45 tests in Canada. The genotype assays, which already have been approved by the FDA, work with the company's Tigris technology and are used to identify human papillomavirus strains that are linked to precancerous lesions and cervical cancer.
