Kohler exec: Industry could be in for a rosy spring

The outdoor power equipment industry could see an uptick in demand this spring as the weather improves and customers see the need to replace older equipment to achieve efficiency, according to Tom Cromwell, president of Kohler Engines. Demand for efficient equipment is up among homeowners and commercial landscapers, seen through the growing popularity of zero-turn riding lawn mowers. Contractors also prefer equipment with electronic fuel-injected systems that save on gasoline, Cromwell notes.
