Many HCV patients lack knowledge of disease, survey shows

Patients with hepatitis C alone or HCV and HIV scored under 50% in a test to assess their understanding of HCV, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center researchers report. Data showed 18% believed HCV does not lead to health problems, 15.2% said treatment is not needed if symptoms are not present and 56.8% expressed fear regarding their HCV status.
