Nixon optimistic about Medicaid deal after meeting with House GOP

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, a Democrat, met with the House Republican Caucus to talk about Medicaid reform and said he was optimistic a deal could be reached and that he could support parts of a plan to expand the program using private payers. He noted market-based changes to Medicaid comparable to proposals being considered in Arkansas could reduce costs and improve care.
