ONC to recognize EHR use in states through MU challenge

The State Meaningful Use Acceleration Challenge 2.0, a friendly competition among U.S. states and territories, was unveiled by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT. The challenge, which aims to promote EHR use, will compare states' and territories' total population of providers, hospitals and professionals who have met meaningful use qualifications and are receiving incentives. "This will allow us to recognize those states that see huge growth in EHR adoption and meeting meaningful-use criteria this year," according to the ONC.
