Sequestration isn't to blame for weak jobs report, economists say

Government hiring at the state, local and federal levels increased last month if layoffs at the Postal Service aren't taken into account, Labor Department data indicate. The economy added fewer jobs than expected, but economists believe the reason for the slowdown was the expiration in January of the payroll-tax cut, not sequestration.
