Fat intake influences cognitive decline in diabetics

Older women with Type 2 diabetes may suffer cognitive decline if they have a diet high in saturated and trans fats and low in polyunsaturated fats, an analysis of data from the Nurses' Health Study found. The researchers said dietary fat may affect glucose and lipid metabolism, which could influence cognitive changes in older diabetics.
