The value of a follower

If you've spent a lot of time building up the number of followers you have on Twitter or friends you have on Facebook, Tameka Kee's post over at PaidContent.org asks an important question: Just how much are all your subscribers, followers and friends really worth? While Fred, the first YouTube star to draw a million subscribers, is rumored to be pulling in thousands of dollars a month thanks to the ads served on his videos, stars like Britney Spears are racing toward a million followers on Twitter with no clear path toward monetizing those connections.
