Internet-connected TVs are in 38% of U.S. homes, firm reports

Thirty-eight percent of U.S. households have at least one television set connected to the Internet through a game console, Blu-ray disc player, set-top box or other device, according to Leichtman Research Group. A year ago, 30% of households had Internet-connected TVs, and the figure was about one-quarter of American homes two years ago. Netflix subscribers apparently are leading the trend, with more than one-third of that base reporting that they stream videos at least once a week, while only 5% of non-Netflix households do so, the researchers say.
