H&M aims to win a greener reputation

H&M has been pushing for transparency about its sustainability efforts, a goal that led the company to the unusual decision to release a list of its suppliers. The retailer is auditing factories to improve conditions, launched a recycling program that rewards shoppers with discounts for bringing in bags of old clothing, and became the largest global user of organic cotton last year, said Helena Helmersson, global head of sustainability for H&M.
