Houston back in control for first Orion flight

NASA flight controllers in Houston will be back in control next year when the rocket carrying the Orion multipurpose crew vehicle clears the launch tower at Cape Canaveral, Fla. The NASA team will be testing procedures planned for manned flights due to start in 2021. The first test, however, will send a crewless Orion on a high elliptical orbit that will bring it back into the atmosphere at 84% of the velocity it would have returning from a Moon mission.
