The U.S. will continue this year to fund the Medium Extended Air Defense System, a project run in cooperation with Germany and Italy, the Pentagon says. The Defense Department is using $380 million from the continuing resolution to pay its share of the project, saying that authority overrides the previous ban on continued MEADS funding contained in the defense authorization.
