NEI exec promotes SMR development in radio tour

Paul Genoa, the Nuclear Energy Institute's senior director of policy development, has concluded a 10-station radio tour to promote the development of small modular reactors. Such units are an "elegant evolution" from large-reactor technology, Genoa said, and their development will "kick-start an entire industry." The four existing SMR designs have "an economy of scaleability" and are being developed in a safe manner, he added.
