NTIA: States, territories apply for FirstNet planning grants

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration said all states and all but one U.S. territory have applied for grants to cover planning costs for the nationwide public safety wireless broadband network. Initial grants will be awarded in July and monies can be spent to create oversight organizations, hire personnel and educate potential users.
