Public awareness is problem for palliative care, expert says

Many patients and caregivers may seek help making end-of-life care decisions but never connect with a palliative care specialist or even know the services the subspecialty can provide, Dr. Suzana Makowski writes in Pallimed. Palliative care needs to change its public image, raise awareness and do a better job educating media, other professionals and the public about what it is, she said.
