Real-time feedback improves laser therapy for nevus flammeus

Laser speckle imaging can provide real-time feedback of blood photocoagulation during laser treatment of port wine stains, according to researchers at the University of California at Irvine. The method involves a laser, camera and computer, and could reduce the number of sessions required for successful treatment, the lead investigator said.
