Report: Patient reviews gain importance for public, providers

Forty-eight percent of patients surveyed by PricewaterhouseCoopers' Health Research Institute said they have looked at reviews of health care providers, and 68% of that group reported using the reviews to select a doctor or hospital, according to the report. Patient satisfaction data will play a role in Medicare provider pay this year under the Value-Based Purchasing program.
