U.S. ethanol exports fell in February; DDGS shipments increased

Federal data indicate that total U.S. ethanol exports fell to 42.5 million gallons in February, down about one-third from January but marking the second consecutive month that the U.S. was a net exporter of the biofuel, writes research analyst Ann Lewis of the Renewable Fuels Association. Ethanol imports dwindled to 20 million gallons, down 57% from January and the least since May, Lewis notes. Exports of distillers dried grains with solubles rose to 617,894 metric tons, up 6% from January, with China as the top destination, Lewis states.
