Bernanke addresses foreign concerns about Volcker rule

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said the US central bank will try to make sure the Volcker rule, which bans proprietary trading at major banks, doesn't hinder liquidity globally. "The Volcker rule raises a lot of complexities, including some international differences," Bernanke said, noting concerns about liquidity in foreign government bonds. The Fed will "support the market-making function and the liquidity in critical financial markets".
