New sunscreen labeling rules go into effect June 18

The makers of sunscreen and cosmetics that contain sunscreen are launching newly labeled products to comply with FDA regulations. Sunscreens labels will list active ingredients, and the "broad spectrum" label will be reserved for products that pass a test showing they protect against both ultraviolet-A and ultraviolet-B rays. Though some cosmetics contain sunscreen, dermatologic surgeon Neil Sadick said people should use enough sunscreen daily to fill a shot glass.
