Walgreen study: Community pharmacy is preferred over mail order

A Walgreen study, published in the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy, found that four times as many patients prefer a community pharmacy over mail order for filling a prescription if the co-pay is similar. "While we are aware that some patients have a high satisfaction rate with mail order, the findings also further reinforce that many patients value convenient access and the opportunity to establish a personal relationship with a pharmacist through face-to-face interaction," said Jeffrey Kang, senior vice president of health and wellness services and solutions.
