This is the prime time for consumers to buy long-term-care coverage, according to Phyllis Shelton, president of LTC Consultants. The latter part of the year will bring changes to the market, such as new gender ratings, making it a good idea to buy a policy now, and she and others said combination products are drumming up interest. "People like the idea of being able to ‘get something back’ if they don’t need the long-term care benefit," said Brian Ashe of Brian Ashe & Associates in Illinois.
