Bird flu fears hamper KFC's recovery in China

Worries over a new strain of bird flu in China have hit sales at Yum! Brands' KFC just as the chain was hoping to rebound from earlier supplier problems. Same-store sales in March at KFC's China stores dropped 16%. "Historically in these situations, we have educated consumers that properly cooked chicken is perfectly safe to eat, and we will continue to do so," the company said in a regulatory filing.
