Calif. town's business owners push for more flexible sign rules

The city council in Elk Grove, Calif., this week was scheduled to consider changes to the town's sign rules that would give small businesses more flexibility about how they could use signs to advertise their businesses. "One of the first things you want to do when you open up shop is to let people know that you're there, that you exist. One of the most obvious ways to do that is signage. It helps a lot," said business owner Marial Black.
