Central banks consider clearing OTC derivatives at CCPs

A survey of central banks found that some are looking into using central counterparties to clear over-the-counter derivatives, including interest-rate swaps. Central banks are exempt from clearing requirements on OTC derivatives in the U.S. and Europe, but some respondents say doing so would be a positive move for themselves as well as the broader market.
