Fast casual has steamed ahead of both the quickservice and casual restaurant segments by offering customers better-for-you options at lower prices, but now there's evidence that casual chains are seeing customers return, at least in part because of improved offerings spurred by the growth of fast-casual rivals, Paul Barron writes. Bar offerings beyond beer and wine and mobile offerings are additional draws, especially among millennials.
