Del. education chief reassures district officials on common core

Delaware is on its way to adopting common core standards and to piloting new computerized assessments developed by the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium, state Education Secretary Mark Murphy told the Cape Henlopen School District's school board at a recent meeting. Some board members expressed concerns about a lack of input from local boards on the development of the new standards, but Murphy reassured them that local boards will still make decisions about curriculum.
