French President Francois Hollande likely regrets leaving his camel in Timbuktu: The animal, a gift from the Malian government, was killed and eaten by the family to whom it had been entrusted. A local official said the president has been given "a bigger and better-looking camel" as compensation. "We are ashamed of what happened to the camel. It was a present that did not deserve this fate," the official added.
